LAN Spider Editor's Review

'LAN Spider' allows you to search your entire network for certain files. It uses multiple threads to speed up the search. The program can only search through shared files and folders. However, you can use the program's Options dialog to add accounts to its database. These accounts are used to access shared network resources that need authentication.

This program is easy-to-use, because it has only a few features. On the left side, the program's main window displays a list of computers from your network. You can choose which computers to search, by selecting the corresponding checkbox. It's also possible to select an IP range, and search through the shared resources of each existent IP.

When you type the name of a file you are searching, you should take into consideration that you can also use wild cards or you can search for files containing

Pluses: You can use this program to search for files with a certain date, attribute, size, or type.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: In my opinion this software is a handy tool which can save you a lot of grpoing around the network for that file you need so badly.
